Hey there! Been a while since I posted but here I am now. In Dubai it’s very normal to be OTT at any time so I thought why not go a bit extra this one Saturday. In a bid to support local fashion I collaborated with the lovely Sara Gi on her glam brand. In the process I got to know her and how her brand came about. It’s quite fascinating to know the behind the scenes of it all. In appreciating the beauty of her creations I chose this beautiful teal green gown which is perfect for this spring / summer. Pairing it with these beautiful lace gloves with embellishments was just what it needed. They simply steal the show I think..what do you think?
Hello hello. This post comes after ages of being away from blogging. Was on a break from technology and settling into new things. But boy Am I glad to be back. Over time perhaps I have changed and to a certain extent my style too. Perhaps it’s observable or perhaps not but you can be the judge of that.
I feel my style is going more towards minimalism with a bit of exuberance now. My style or outfits are always mood based. Current mood being to simplify my life and find more time for the simpler pleasures. What do you think? Is it working for me?
Classic white shirt is a symbol of style, grace, forever and ease. It is a style staple that you can never do without. It makes dressing easier for that early morning meeting or even when you like to own complicated bottom pieces such as brocade trousers or colour plaid or boucle skirts. I for one has one shelf dedicated just to different fabric and patterned white shirts. This is my chic work to drinks look. I paired a pleated two-toned skirt from Maje with a classic white blouse from She In. What do you think? Would you try it this way or any other?
If you’d like to shop the shirt or are generally a fan of Shein please use my discount code “kriticious25” valid until 31 October, 2018. P.s. this is a collaboration but I must say the quality is quite decent and otherwise you won’t see this post up here. Sighing off now until next kritical post. Xoxo
It’s Friday in the UAE and it’s the equivalent of Sunday elsewhere in the world. Wishing you a happy weekend! This post is about this talented couture designer from India – Kartikeya. Pictures truly don’t do justice to just how detail oriented and luxurious his clothes are. I was fortunate enough to prance around on this gorgeous embellished short suit whilst he was showcasing at the Arab Fashion Week last season in Dubai. The pop of pink to this otherwise beige fabric creates that oomph effect and makes it a bit exciting and attention seeking.
“This short suit be so good, Imma thinking to get it” pose ??Life is always better sideways…😉😉Jacket with the most gorgeous embellishment and embroidery combo….ting ting ting ✨✨✨God is always in the details 💜💜✨✨✨
What do you think about this outfit? Would you wear it? I feel this can be carried over from a wedding function to a night out or even a daytime casual look if you pair it with sneakers and change the hair to a messy top bun or something more funky. Oh and my photos are all shot on the iPhone X by my version of Instagram husband 😉.
To get more familiar with Kartikeya’s range of work I have added some pictures of his last show at Arab Fashion Week from his Instagram account @kartikeyaindia via the @arabfashioncouncil.
Not afraid to play with colours…
As you can see he plays with a wide range of colours and embroideries and fabrics to create his unique blend of couture. It’s sort of the mixing of the old world with the new. But as with all good things it comes at a good price. Would you consider spending for couture? There is no doubt that the craftsmanship involved leads to a garment that is stunning and beautiful like a piece of art. From the fit to the fabric involved everything is just perfect. I think the answer is very individualistic and boils down to what lengths are you willing to go for style and whether you can actually afford that style. What would you do????? Do tell 😉😉
Ok that’s it from me. Until next kritical post. Xoxo
Today is the last day of 2017 and as I reflect on this beautiful mixed bag year for me as somethings went really well and some didn’t go as per my liking it but I roll with it you know. Whilst your contemplating your year take a look at my second look on my favorite collaboration with the Parisian chic store Le 66 located at City Walk.
Dubai winters are cold but not too cold and it’s great to layer up and showcase your fashion game. I stumbled upon this really fun and quirky brand Aviù whilst browsing through the racks at Le 66 and I knew more than ever this brand was so me. Aviù is an Italian brand specializing in playing with fabrics using leather, PVC, sequins and anything else you can imagine. It’s luxe for sure but doesn’t lose edge or go overboard with motifs and in other words I’m in love. This look consists of a sparkly denim jacket combined with wide-legged pants of everybody’s favourite fabric of many season’s past – velvet. I can’t say it enough but this jacket is the bomb and also totally worthy of the perfect Kira Kira. Lol. Shoes, bag and sunnies are my own.
Hope you enjoyed this post and wishing you an amazing year end and a fabulous beginning to the new year. Happy New Year! Until next kritical post. xoxo.
It’s been a while but here I am now and so is the winter in Dubai. This post is a curated edit of what to wear in the winter in Dubai created at Le 66 with the help of the beautiful girls at Le 66. We’re blessed with the best winter in the world that is really pleasant and allows you to showcase your fashion forward winter styles. Dubai women don’t succumb to the norm when it comes to dressing up in their daily life and are open to experimenting and winter season is no different.
This first look is glamorous and very Dubai chic with the use of the gorgeous monochrome wool-mohair blend bouclé jacket paired with a 100% silk pleated gold skirt. The jacket is by Philosophy Official and the skirt is by Mes Demoiselles. As is obvious when things are no longer high street the fabrics used feel amazing against your skin and you look and feel a 100%. It’s essential to have staples in the wardrobe that are of good quality and this outfit is made up of the classic jacket and pleated skirt that has been doing the rounds for quite a few seasons now. The look is finished by boots from trusty Asos and cross body bag by Marc B. The glasses are from Quay Australia purchased via Asos.
Would you wear this? Do comment and share. Let me know what you’d like to see more of. Also watch out for the next look to be released soon. Until next critical post. xoxo.
One can never say to monochrome anything because it is simply the epitome of classic style since everyone learnt to differentiate their Chanel Kelly from from the flap bag. Lol now I sound like Mark Francis. Pardon my fashion arrogance. This look is fairly simple but elevated with the choice of flared garments. The off shoulder top by Concrete Unicorn is soft on your skin and makes you looks simple yet elevated. Now that I think about it I’ll just wear this today. Lol. Oh and the pants are from trusty Zara. I love this look because it’s simple and classic and sort of a departure from my usual habit to be quirky. Scroll down for look details and have a blessed Wednesday. Until next kritical post. xoxo.
#OOTD Deets: Off shoulder Top – Concrete Unicorn

We have all seen Sara Jessica Parker rock sequins as Carrie in Sex and the City day or night. So why not try it for yourself? Let me know how you get on. Have a fabulous Diwali weekend!! Until next kritical post. xoxo
I’m going to let the pictures do the talking this time around. Have a lovely week!! Hope you enjoy this post as much as I enjoy the sight of pink bougainvilleas. Scroll to the bottom for outfit details. Until next kritical post. xoxo
Lace cropped off shoulder top: Topshop
Ruched socks : Asos
Purple clutch: Bimba Y Lola
Pink pearl encrusted furry slides: Khan Market Delhi
This post is slightly raw and special cause of the dress. This dress was picked up by me from I SAW IT FIRST and I literally saw it first on there. The thing about online shopping is it sometimes takes a few trials to get it right but with this the size was right and the fit so perfect. The dress has great fabric and the sequins are sown in together perfectly without coming off everywhere you sit or walk through unlike your hair. I was drawn to this dress as it looks like a party and who doesn’t need a pick-me-up dress like this one. Do check out the website for more cool finds and until next kritical post. Oh and before you go scroll down for full outfit details. xoxo
The jacket dress is one of the biggest things right now. Have you seen Kim K wearing a Vivienne Westwood to the NYFW? If not google now. This metallic version is one of the best ones I have come across. It actually accompanies pants of the same fabric but due to the heat in Dubai I just went with the jacket part of it. Lol. I absolutely love the sexy vibe it gives. Excuse my hair in this shoot as it was super humid during this shoot. Nonetheless I hope you love it and would give this trend a try in the way that it suits you of course. If you do fancy this very jacket this one’s by Baruni and the shoes are black velvet by Kurt Geiger . Do show some love and let me know in case you have any comments.
Special thanks to Fashion Exclusive and Baruni for the fab clothes.
